What causes testicular pain?

Testicular pain that occurs after arousal can have several causes, both physiological and pathological.

Physiological causes:

* Incomplete sexual intercourse or prolonged arousal without ejaculation. During arousal, increased blood flow to the genitals (hyperemia) occurs. When to seek immediate medical attention:

* The pain is sharp, intense, and sudden.

* The pain is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, or fever.

* The pain does not subside within several hours.
